The Wolverines' Winning Streak
Michigan's football team is on fire, with a remarkable 7-2 record and a three-game winning streak heading into their second bye week. This success story is led by head coach Sherrone Moore, who has an impressive 3-0 record against their primary rivals, the Michigan State Spartans.
Jaden Mangham's Spartan-to-Wolverine Journey
Senior safety Jaden Mangham, a former Spartan, has become a key player for the Wolverines. With two team wins under his belt since joining Ann Arbor, Mangham's experience and leadership are invaluable. He started the recent game against Michigan State and shared his unique perspective, expressing happiness that a Spartan graduate is enjoying multiple Paul Bunyan Trophy wins.
"It was an incredible feeling to win that game. I know the Spartans can't feel too bad because I graduated from MSU, so they still have someone to celebrate with. Returning to East Lansing was surreal, going from a friendly environment to a hostile one. But once the game started, it felt like any other game."
Mangham's role within Michigan's safety rotation has grown, especially with the return of Rod Moore from a knee injury. He understands the competitive nature of the team and the importance of putting the best players on the field.
"We know it's not personal. Everyone wants to win, and we trust the coach to put out the best players. We understand it's a business and a game, which is why we compete every day."
Greg Crippen on Michigan's Offensive Line
Michigan graduate Greg Crippen has been a consistent presence at center this season, starting every game on the offensive line alongside right tackle Andrew Sprague. His reliability this year is a result of the playing time he gained in the second half of last season. Crippen brings a veteran presence to a youthful offensive line, with classmates Giovanni El-Hadi at left guard and three redshirt freshmen, Blake Frazier, Jake Guarnera, and Sprague, rounding out the group.
"They're incredible players and have been doing an awesome job. I have full confidence in whoever steps onto the field."
While the offensive line has had its challenges due to inexperience, Crippen believes in the team's potential. He emphasizes the need for consistency and putting it all together to become the best offense in the country.
"I have 100% confidence in every player on offense. We just need to ensure we perform at our best every game."
