quinua. i know i read something that this substrate is very nutritious. have any of you tried it? better than brf? OPINIONS!?

Never tried it. Try it and come back with the info. Who knows. BRF could forever be forgotten. GL

This has been posted about many, many times. Yes, it works. Yes, it is VERY nutritious. I usually mixed it 50/50 with BRF when I used to do cakes. Very noticeable increase in potency IME. There is a substrate mix somewhere in the FAQ's with quinoa, BRF and flax seed that works good. Search for it or hope that someone here can post a link, cuz I can't find it myself.

i also have tried it mixed with rye in different ratios and did not notice any difference with it in the mix.

I'll back Foo here, 50/50 works great. The 'Alien' Formula, however isn't so good, it has incredibly slow colonisation rates and is more prone to contaminants, letalone mentioning it's delicacy concerning PC times. Stick with the regular PF, just substitute 1/2 the BRF for quinoa. Make sure the quinoa is ground.

I'm gonna to do PF cakes with Quinoa substrate only. instead of BRF. how is the best results, crushed quinoa like flour, or as hole?
